First and foremost, any off-road vehicle must have enough clearance between the underside and the terrain. This can be achieved with special Edmonton lift kits, which are available in a wide variety of configurations. Lift kits are classified according to the amount of verticality they offer: leveling kits offer 1 to 2 inches of lift on the front side; body lifts allow 1.5 to 3 inches of lift for the entire vehicle; premium lifts add 4 to 5.5 inches; and full suspension lifts offer 4 to 6 inches. Next would be the wheels. It is highly recommended that the right set of wheels be chosen: for instance, larger tires may be more durable, but they’re much heavier and they put significant strain on the steering, adversely affect gas mileage, and in extreme cases even lead to broken axles.
